Susan brings big picture understanding, an ability to prioritize a multitude of details, and organizational know-how to manage and lead large scale career programs and employer relations work on behalf of the Career Center. Creativity, curiosity and compassion are also part of Susan’s DNA and drive her dedication and commitment to supporting the professional development and aspirations of RISD artists and designers. Her career as an artist, counselor and administrator inform her approach to collaboration, problem solving and leadership and support the growth of the dynamic programs, resources and opportunities we offer. Susan received her Educational Masters in Counseling Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University and her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from Pratt Institute.
Fun facts: Susan’s favorite word is Aloha, the Hawaiian greeting that literally translates to, “the joyful sharing of life". She is currently scheming to build a brick oven in her backyard to try new ways to bake bread, her all-time comfort food.
